Description

Moultons is a house, formerly a farmhouse, dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with early 20th century additions. It features a timber frame with colourwashed render, a thatched roof, and brick with a pantile roof. The building is a single storey with an attic and has a three-cell baffle-entry plan.

On the entrance front, to the right is a section from around 1930, which includes a projecting gabled porch on the left, French windows on the right, and a single casement window. To the left of this newer section, the earlier part has 19th or early 20th century windows, including two 2-light casement windows on the ground floor and one single-light casement at the far left. The attic features two raking dormer windows. There is a single flue stack at the ridge towards the right of centre, with another stack on the gable end.

The right gable end has two two-light windows on the ground floor and a 4-light window on the first floor, topped with a half-hipped roof. The left gable end is blank and faces directly onto the road. The rear of the house has a continuous outshut with a catslide roof leading to a verandah at the far right, and one 2-light eyebrow dormer in the attic.

Inside, the house features close studded walling, chamfered ceiling beams, cambered tie beams, and wind bracing in the roof.
