Description

Bridge Farmhouse is a house, formerly a farmhouse, dating from the 16th or 17th century. It is timber framed with colourwashed render and a thatched roof, featuring a single storey with an attic. The entrance front has all 20th-century windows. There is a projecting wing on the right that is blank at the gable end but has a window with three panes on its left side and a two-light gabled dormer window in the attic. The axial range to the left has stucco render that mimics ashlar, with a near-central plank door flanked by two-light casements. To the right, at the mezzanine level, there is a low-set two-light casement, and in the attic, there are two two-light casements. The tympanum of the right gabled dormer has a date in relief, C.F.1880, likely indicating when the gable was built. The roof has a swept valley, and there is a chimney stack with three flues at the ridge on the left. On the right side, there is a 20th-century lean-to outshut with a glazed door and a two-light window. To the left of this, there is a window with three panes and a two-light casement. At the rear, the projecting wing on the right has a two-light and a three-light casement on the ground floor, and two two-light casements on the first floor. The axial range to the left has a ground floor lean-to, a two-light window to the left, and a single-light window to the right, along with a two-light and a single-light window on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
