Description

The Angel Inn, located on Theatre Street, dates back to the 16th century and is a two-storey timber-framed building. The exterior facing Theatre Street is roughcast, with an overhanging first floor that features exposed half-timbering and brick nogging. The building has carved bressumers at both the first floor level and at the eaves level on the gable end that faces Angel Lane. There are three sash windows with glazing bars and flush frames on the Theatre Street side. The interior has been almost entirely modernised but includes a wood cornice and tiles.
