UGGESHALL Churchyard walling 35m south of Church of St. Mary

GV II

A length of boundary walling some 30m. long extending from the south east corner of the churchyard in a westerly direction as far as the entrance gateway to the grounds of Uggeshall House. Mid C19. Flint rubble with red brick copings; about one metre in height. On the north of the wall, facing the church, is the following text from the 48th Psalm worked in knapped flint: 'MARK YE WELL HER BULWARKS THAT YE MAY TELL IT TO THE GENERATION FOLLOWING'. An unusual feature.
