Description

Horseshoe Corner is a farmhouse, largely dating to the mid 17th century. The west gable end is of 19th-century red brick, while the rest of the building is timber-framed and plastered, with a pantiled roof. Originally a 3-cell design, it now features various casement windows, including a probable 16th-century 5-light window with cavetto mullions at the east gable end. A plank door leads to the interior, which contains an internal stack. The hall and parlour have chamfered floorbeams and joists with bar stops, with the joists set on edge, and both rooms feature large, open fireplaces. A newel staircase is present, along with some original floorboarding. The timber frame incorporates reused material and likely originated, or was partly reconstructed, from 16th-century origins.
