Description
Church House is a house that was originally a farmhouse, likely dating from the 16th century. It has a timber frame with plaster, and the front is covered in colourwashed brick, topped with a pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a three-cell layout with a lobby entrance. There are various mullioned windows, mostly 20th century copies of the originals, but some may include original features, with splayed reveals. A 20th century red brick gabled porch leads to a plank door designed in a 16th century style. Inside, there is an internal stack and a restored interior showcasing exposed timbering, with the newel stairs reportedly still in place. At the rear, there are additional mullioned windows, some of which are original.
