Description

This barn, located immediately southeast of Uggeshall Hall, is probably from the early 18th century. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded, with the north gable end constructed of red brick up to the eaves level. The roof is pantiled, with glazed black tiles on the west side. The barn consists of four bays and has a hipped porch facing east. The frame includes straight bracing with bisected studs and arched-braced open trusses. Some of the timbers are reused, and there have been later alterations. The roof is supported by two rows of staggered butt purlins and a ridge piece.
