Description
Lampards Farmhouse is a former farmhouse dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century. The building has two storeys in the main range and two storeys with attics in the cross-wing on the south side. It is timber-framed, with the main range rendered and featuring 20th-century pargetting, while the cross-wing has a colourwashed brick gable end with a chimney stack on the east side and traces of comb pargetting on the west, now covered by a lean-to addition. The south side is faced in red brick from the late 19th or early 20th century. The windows are mostly casements, with many being 20th-century replacements. Inside the main range, some timber framing is exposed, and it seems to have originally included an internal chimney and a cross-entry layout. The framing is plain with reversed braces, although the roof is not accessible. The north gable features the date 1670, which may indicate a genuine alteration to the structure. The cross-wing consists of two bays with exposed main posts and beams, all showcasing chamfering and scroll-stops, original upper ceilings, and a newel stair beside the chimney stack.
