Description
No. 4 High Street is a house dating from the early 18th century, with later alterations to the rear that create a double pile plan. It is constructed of red brick, featuring some burnt headers, and has a roof made of black pantiles. The building has two storeys and an attic. The front facade includes one window with sashes and glazing bars set in flush frames; these are later additions, as the original smaller openings have been blocked. The entrance features an inset six-panel door with a moulded architrave and a slated gabled hood supported by shaped brackets. There is a brick band at the first floor level. To the right, the house has a Dutch gable end with a two-storey lean-to addition. The gable end includes small paired windows at the attic level, one of which is blocked, and has a brick band below it, along with an integral stack.
