Description

The Cedars is a house built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slated roof. The building has two storeys and a symmetrical facade with a central bay that is slightly set forward. There are three windows with inset sashes that include glazing bars and cast iron lintels. The entrance has an open timber portico-style porch, which has an entablature and a shallow gabled roof supported by columns and pilasters, with the side openings now glazed. The front door is a five-panel design and is topped by a rectangular fanlight. At the rear, there is a block with a double span roof. The Cedars has a prominent facade that faces Saxtead Green.
