Description
The Fox and Goose is a former beer house that has been converted into a private residence. It dates back to the 16th century, with 20th-century extensions added to the right side. The building features a timber frame, roughcast render, and a colourwashed brick casing on the left gable end, topped with a pantiled roof. It is two storeys high and has a three-cell plan. The property includes various 19th and 20th-century casement windows, as well as an internal stack and a gable end stack on the left side. The original entrance was likely a cross passage, but the doorway is now located within a small addition on the left gable end. There is one original first-floor five-light diamond mullion window at the rear. The interior has been significantly modernised but retains some attractive exposed timbering. The building was last used as a beer house in 1832.
