Description
Poplar Lodge is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century. It is timber framed and plastered, with the front remodeled in red brick during the early 19th century. The building has a lobby entrance plan and features two outshuts at the rear. The roof is plain tiled with a red brick ridge stack, and there is a brick stack on the left-hand gable return. The outshuts have pantiled roofs. The farmhouse is two storeys high with a dormer. It has a four-window range consisting of sashes with glazing bars, although the right-hand ground floor window has been blocked up. The gabled dormer contains a casement window with glazing bars. The entrance is highlighted by a pedimented brick porch with a tiled roof, which includes a panelled door and sidelights.
