Description

House. Dating from the 17th century, Falkenham Hall was remodelled in the early to mid-19th century. The house is timber-framed and has a plastered facade with colour-washed brick on the rear. It has a plain tiled roof with parapets and red brick stacks. The building has a ‘T’ plan, with a lower rear wing dating back to the late 16th century, which has been significantly altered and extended in the late 19th century. A projecting, two-storey gabled entrance bay sits off-centre, featuring a three-window arrangement of sash windows with glazing bars. The right-hand return features a mid-19th century gabled section with a plain tiled roof. A prostyle entrance portico, with a hood supported by square wooden columns, provides access to a raised and fielded panel door, set within a reeded architrave and decorated with roundels.
