Description

Marsh Acres is a house likely dating to the 16th century at the rear, with an early 17th-century front range, and considerably altered in the early 20th century with a large extension to the south-east. The original two parts of the house were probably separate detached dwellings, now at right angles to each other. The construction is timber-framed, with some plaster and colourwashed render. The rear wing features pantiles, while the front range has plain tiles. The house is two storeys and has an attic, with a three-window front displaying early 20th-century three-light casement windows. A semi-circular headed door is set within a pedimented brick surround. An internal stack is present in the front range. The interior has been much altered, but some exposed timbering remains. The 20th-century extensions do not possess group value.
