Description
Vale House is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 16th century on the west side, with 18th-century extensions to the south and an early 19th-century main wing to the east. The earlier part of the building features a timber frame that is partially plastered and partially cased in brick, topped with modern concrete plaintiles. It stands two storeys high with a two-window range, showcasing various casement windows.
The main wing is constructed from yellow-white brick and also has modern concrete plaintiles. It is two storeys tall with a two-window range on the front, featuring inset sash windows with glazing bars and flat brick arches. To the right side, there is a doorway with an inset six-panel raised and fielded door, complemented by a semi-circular fanlight with glazing bars and panelled reveals. Above the doorway, there is a narrower first-floor window. The roof is hipped with wide overhanging eaves, and there is a brick lean-to on the right side. The left-hand return front has a three-window range, with ground floor sash windows extending to ground level and blind windows in the centre bay.
