Description
Vine Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century. It has a timber frame with colourwashed render and a pantile roof, which was originally thatched. The house is two storeys high. The entrance front features a projecting 20th-century porch to the left of centre. To the right of the porch are two 3-light 14th-century casement windows, and to the left is a similar window. On the first floor, there are four more 3-light casement windows. A chimney stack with two flues is located to the left of centre. The left gable end has a 2-light casement window on the ground floor and a similar window above it on the first floor. The right end features a 19th-century brick wall with a 2-light cambered-headed casement window. There is a 20th-century flat-roofed two-storey outshut on the right, which has a blocked 2-light cambered-headed window on the first floor and a bay window with a hipped roof on the ground floor. At the rear, there is a two-storey flat-roofed addition that conceals the front. Inside, the cottage has chamfered ceiling beams and joists.
