Description
Poplarhill Farmhouse is a house dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is timber framed with render and has a pantile roof, which was probably originally thatched. The building is single storey with attics and has an L-shaped plan.
The entrance front features a projecting early 19th-century wing on the right, which includes a three-light cambered-headed window on the first floor and a two-light similar window on the left flank at ground floor level. The recessed range to the left has a panelled door with a gabled porch from the 19th or 20th century supported on posts. Flanking the door are three-light casements. On the first floor to the right, there is a two-light casement, and at the ridge on the right, there is a two-flue stack, with another two-flue stack behind the ridge on the left.
The left-hand gable end has a three-light casement on the first floor. The right side has attached outshuts and an ancillary building. The interior has not been inspected, but the farmhouse is noted as being remarkably unaltered.
