Description

The hand pump and timber casing at Warners Almshouses is a 19th-century cast iron pump featuring a side-mounted handle and a trough with stone sides. The pump is enclosed in a casing shaped like an obelisk, topped with a flat lead cap instead of a pyramid, and constructed from planking painted white. This casing is a 20th-century replacement but is designed to resemble an earlier version. The structure is included for its group value.
