Description
Hinton Hall is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 16th century, with later additions. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with the oldest section located to the north. This part has a jettied first floor and a single gable on both the east and west sides. The ground floor on the front (east) displays remnants of strapwork pargetting and rusticated surrounds around the windows. There is an external stack with four rebuilt grouped flues, topped with oversailing brickwork.
Adjoining to the south is a later range, probably from the 17th century, which includes an asymmetrical mid-19th century entrance porch. This porch is two storeys high, made of rendered brick, and features pilasters and a flat parapet, along with twin two-panel doors and one gabled dormer. Inside, there is an internal stack with a moulded base and rebuilt clustered flues set diagonally. Most windows in both ranges are 19th century casements, either three-light or four-light. The rear of the property has 19th and 20th century extensions.
