Description
The Lodge is a lodge for Thorington Hall, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with stucco render that was originally designed to look like ashlar, and it has a slated roof. The building is in a classical style and is a single storey.
The front is symmetrical with five bays divided by Tuscan pilasters and an entablature above. There is a segmental entrance arch with a doorway located to one side of the entrance lobby, featuring a boarded door with cover fillets. On either side of the entrance, there is one inset sash window with glazing bars. The entrance is further enhanced by a portico supported by four Tuscan columns, complete with an entablature and a pediment.
The right-hand return front consists of three bays, also divided by pilasters, with a sash window in the centre bay and an overhanging gable supported by four Tuscan columns. The left-hand return front features a pedimented gable and a lean-to extension. There is one internal stack in the building.
