Description
Thorington Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse with an L-shaped plan. The main wing likely dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century, while the west wing was added in the 18th century. The main wing has a timber-framed core with a late 17th century to early 18th century red brick casing, although the gable ends may be original. It features an incomplete brick band at the first-floor level and brick bands at the eaves level of the gables. The roof is covered with modern concrete pantiles. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a three-cell plan and various three-light and four-light casement windows.
On the north side, there is a tall mid-19th century brick and slate porch with wavy bargeboards on the gable, a doorway with a four-centre arch and hoodmould above, and a boarded door. To the right, there is a mid-20th century porch featuring a crenellated parapet and a glazed door, along with one flat-roofed dormer. The farmhouse has one internal stack and one gable end stack. The west wing is timber framed with a red brick casing and modern concrete pantiles, also two storeys high, featuring large pane casement windows with segmental arches and a boarded half door.
