Description
No. 74 Thoroughfare is a building dating from 1852, located on the south side of the street. It is a late 17th century to early 18th century structure with two storeys and an attic, constructed of brick and stucco, featuring a band and plinth. The roof is tiled, and there are three windows with original mullion transom casements, although the glazing is modern. The entrance includes a six-panel, flush door set in a case with panelled pilasters and carved consoles, with additional carved consoles on the return. There is a modern shop front and a modern window to the right. Inside, the building has a two-panelled stair balustrade and a richly carved beam that has been uncovered in a bedroom. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 40 to 44 (even), 52 to 84 (even), and 90 to 94 (even).
