Description

This is an 18th-century, three-story building located on the south side of Thoroughfare. It is timber-framed and has been plastered and lined to resemble ashlar. The roof is slate-covered. A stucco band runs above the first-floor windows, and the building originally had three sash windows in flush frames. There is an early 19th-century shop front, now with modern glazing bars, and a modern door with an oblong fan. The building is part of a group that includes numbers 40 to 44 (even), 52 to 84 (even), and 90 to 94 (even). A photograph of the building is held by the National Monuments Record.
