Description
No. 36 Church Street is an early 19th-century building constructed in 1852. It is three stories high and made of yellow brick, featuring three windows, including those on the splayed corners, with a blank window recess in the center. The building has sash windows with glazing bars and an eaves soffit beneath a slate roof. The ground floor is painted and includes arched windows and a central arched entrance, with a stone springing band and archivolts. The entrance consists of a four-panel door, with fielded lower panels and glazed upper panels, surrounded by a reeded architrave. The ground floor also has a shop with sheet glazing. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 32 to 36 (even), The Bull Hotel, and No. 2 Market Hill.
