Description

Lynchester House, formerly known as the Cock and Pye Inn, is a 17th-century building located on New Street. It is two stories tall and features a timber frame covered in stucco that is lined to resemble ashlar. The roof is tiled. On the right side, there is a carriageway that passes through. The building has four sash windows, which include glazing bars and flush frames. A modern door has been installed. Historical records indicate the presence of a Cock and Pye inn as early as 1553. Lynchester House, along with Nos 72 to 78, forms an important group of buildings in this location.
