Description

No. 76 on New Street is an 18th-century, two-storey building that features a timber frame covered with stucco designed to resemble ashlar stone. The roof is tiled with slate eaves courses. The building has two windows, which are sash windows set in flush frames. There is a small pane shop window, which is no longer in use, flanked by slender pilasters and topped with an entablature. The door has three sunk panels and is set within a case that includes a pulvinate frieze. Nos. 72 to 78 (even) form a group in an important position.
