Description
Trustan's Farmhouse is a farmhouse that forms an L-shaped plan, consisting of three sections. The front range dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with the earlier part located to the east. The rear range is likely from the 18th century and has undergone later alterations. The front range features a timber frame and plastered exterior, with some brick casing added in the 19th and 20th centuries. The roof is clad in corrugated iron at the front and plain tiles at the rear. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has various 19th and 20th-century casement windows, with the older ones showcasing square leaded panes. The doorway has a six-panel door, with the upper four panels glazed, and is accompanied by a 20th-century gabled porch. There is also an internal stack. The rear wing is timber framed with brick casing, part of which is colourwashed, and has a plain tiled roof. It is also two storeys high and features casement windows with square leaded panes and a brick dentil eaves cornice. Inside the oldest part of the farmhouse, some ovolo-moulded mullion windows are still present, and the framing suggests that the rear range was originally a detached structure.
