Description
The building known as the dovecote at Four Bridges Farm is a garage that was originally constructed as a dovecote in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is made of red Flemish bond brick and features a plain tile roof. The dovecote has an octagonal plan and includes one inserted floor.
On the southeast face, there is a projecting plinth that is consistent across the entire building. This face also has modern spur walls on either side of the garage doors. Above these walls, there is a circular loft entry hole with a modern iron grating. The roof is hipped and topped with a central modern weather vane. The northwest face has a similar circular loft entry.
Inside, the dovecote contains numerous square nesting holes along all the wall faces. Four Bridges Farmhouse, located nearby, is not listed.
