Description
Lime Tree Cottage, located on The Green, is a building that likely started as a single house but has been divided into three dwellings. It dates from the early 17th century and features mid-19th century neo-Tudor alterations, along with a rear addition from the mid-19th to mid-20th century. The structure is timber framed and plastered, topped with a plain tiled roof that includes crest tiles.
The building stands two stories high and has a four-window range. The windows are mullion and transom casements, mostly fitted with diamond leaded panes. On the ground floor, there is a four-light canted bay window on the left side and two six-panel doors, with the upper panels glazed. The right-hand doorway, which leads to Lime Tree Cottage, has an open timber porch. Drip moulds are present above the windows and doors.
There is an internal stack and an external stack on the left gable, both featuring two linked octagonal flues with moulded bases and star caps. The rear addition includes an additional stack that matches the style of the others.
