Description

Manor Farmhouse is a 16th and 17th century farmhouse situated in Coles Green, Framlingham. The building is timber-framed with roughcast rendering and a plaintiled roof. It features an internal chimney-stack with a plain red brick shaft and a coved cornice. Original windows include 2-light and 3-light casement windows with a single bar to each light, fixed with pintle hinges. A 20th century flat-roofed porch has been added. A rear wing, dating to the 18th century, is timber-framed, rendered, and lined. In the northern half of the main range, some plain, heavy ceiling-beams remain exposed, although the original room layout is not discernible. The two southern bays of the main range represent a later addition; their intermediate roof truss includes a low collar but no original tie-beam. The roof has been significantly altered, but traces of clasped purlins and windbraces are still visible.
