Description
This is an 18th-century house with a front facade dating to the early 19th century, located on Woodbridge Road, Framlingham. It is an L-shaped building of two storeys and attics. The front and south sides are white brick, while the north side of the rear range is red brick. The roofs are plain-tiled, with a paired bracketed cornice. The main range has a hipped roof, featuring flat-roofed, lead-covered dormers in each hip. Two internal chimney stacks with plain red brick shafts are present; one is positioned between the front and rear ranges and may be from an earlier building. The front has three windows with small panes in deep reveals, along with a central entrance featuring a half-glazed door (formerly a double door) and a Roman Doric portico with fluted columns and pilasters, topped with an entablature including triglyphs. The south side has small-paned sash windows with segmental arches above the upper windows. The north side has moulded cast iron window heads. Internally, the house features 6-panelled doors with sunk panels, shutters to all ground floor windows, and a decorative staircase with plain balusters, a wreathed handrail, an open string, and bracketed ends to the treads. A ha-ha defines the boundary of the garden.
