Description
Edward's Farmhouse is a 16th-century farmhouse featuring two storeys and a three-cell lobby-entrance plan. The building is timber-framed and rendered, with simple 20th-century pargetting. The roof is covered with a combination of 20th-century Roman tiles and plain tiles. There is an internal chimney-stack with a plain shaft. The farmhouse has various old casement windows, including two, three, and four-light designs with pintle hinges, and one upper window with diamond mullions. A 20th-century plank door is located under an open lean-to veranda roof that extends along part of the front.
On the north side, there is a 17th-century service wing that projects from the main structure, and a lean-to along the west side, which has a 20th-century exterior but an older core. Inside the main range, the interior features plain exposed joists and main beams, with one partition wall removed. The main posts have stop-chamfered sides and moulded caps. There are three open fireplaces in the internal chimney-stack, one of which is located on the upper floor and has a stone surround. A second chimney-stack is situated between the main range and the wing. The roof has not been examined.
