Description
Fairfield House is a house dating from around 1600, featuring two storeys and attics with a three-cell plan. It is constructed of timber framing and plaster, topped with a hipped roof covered in plain tiles. The house has an internal chimney stack that includes the base of a complex saw-tooth shaft with a later addition on top. The windows are three-light casements with mullions and transoms, fitted with leaded panes. There is a six-panel door located within a porch that has an open ground floor, featuring a semi-circular arch at the entrance, and a room above with a semi-circular-headed window. An early 19th-century wing has been added to the east end and is separately occupied, listed as Fairfield Hall.
