Description

Elms Farmhouse is a building comprising an 18th-century front range and an early to mid-19th century rear range, evidently constructed in three phases. It has a double pile plan. The front of the building is red brick, while the rear is white brick, and the roof is pantiled, with mid-20th century concrete tiles at the rear. The main entrance facade faces the rear, and has five windows arranged as a 2:3 pattern. These windows are inset sash windows with glazing bars, with segmental arches to the left and flat arches to the right. The doorway is centrally placed within the three right-hand bays and contains a six-panel door, the upper four panels being glazed, a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars, and panelled reveals. A portico with fluted columns and pilasters sits above the doorway, topped by an entablature with a modillion cornice. The earlier front range has four windows, mostly mid-20th century flush-frame sash windows under segmental arches; two older casement windows are present on the ground floor. A doorway with pilasters and an entablature is present, with a mid-20th century door.
