Description
29 and 29A Thoroughfare are two-storey buildings with an attic, dating from 1852 but incorporating elements from the early 17th century and 18th century. They feature two dormers and a timber frame that is plastered and lined to resemble ashlar stone. The façade includes a band and four windows: three sash windows with glazing bars in flush frames and one French window that previously opened onto a now-removed balcony. The buildings also have three modern shop windows and a door. A milestone tablet is set against the wall on the pavement. Although much of the building has been modernized, the interior retains one or two 17th-century doors and a balustrade with shaped flat balusters. Nos 27 to 31 (odd) form a group with these buildings.
