Description

Lilac Cottage is a house with two main sections, dating from the 16th century on the left side and a 17th century cross wing that is set forward on the right side, creating an L-shaped plan. To the left of the older section, there is a small one-bay addition, likely from the early 18th century. The building is timber framed and plastered, with the rear of the older part finished in colourwashed brick and a pantiled roof. The left side is single storey with an attic, while the cross wing is two storeys with an attic. It features various casement windows; the older part has a lobby entrance with a boarded door and one gabled dormer. Each section contains an internal stack. Inside, the older part has some exposed framing and good original floorboarding.
