House. Mid C19. Rendered and colourwashed brick. Slate roofs. The building consists of a main block and a service wing to the north-east. South-west front faces the garden. 2 storeys in 3 bays, the centre bay broken forward under a pediment. Rusticated quoins. The ground-floor centre has a single-storey canted bay with French windows. One tripartite sash right and left with plate glass and no glazing bars. A deep moulded string course circuits the building at first-floor level. One tripartite sash to the first floor centre as before, flanked by a simple plate-glass sash either side. Deep eaves cornice with rich modillions, which also circumnavigates the main block, and continues into the pediment. Hipped roof with 2 symmetrical gault brick stacks on the front slope. The south-east return has a central single-storey bay and details as before. The entrance front, facing the road, is to the north-west. 2 bays with an elaborate door bay defined by rusticated quoins. The 4-panelled door has glazed upper panels. Plain arched fanlight. Round-arched doorcase with pilasters right and left rising to scrolled brackets below a projecting entablature. Blind window right. 2 plate-glass sashes to the first floor. The first-floor and eaves cornices continue. The service wing is of 2 bays in 2 storeys: one tripartite sash to the ground, and 2 ordinary sashes to the first floor, all with glazing bars. Gabled roof, hipped to north-east. Ridge stack. INTERIOR. Stick baluster staircase with ramped and wreathed handrail. Plain marble fire surrounds in various rooms.
