Description
Buck's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-16th century, featuring a main range with a later 16th-century wing that is set forward to the left, creating an L-shaped plan. The building is timber framed and plastered, with the later wing showcasing a red brick crowstepped gable end. The roof is primarily covered with plain tiles, except for the rear of the main range, which has pantiles. The farmhouse is two storeys high and consists of a three-cell main range. It has various casement windows and a boarded door leading to the later wing. The main range appears to have originally had a cross passage entrance, which is now blocked. The crowstepped gable features corbelled eaves with short square pinnacles, original mullioned windows at the first floor level with ovolo-moulded frames, a pair of blocked openings in the attic, and an integral stack with two attached hexagonal flues. There is also an internal stack within the main range. Inside, the farmhouse displays fine exposed internal timbering.
