Description

WICKHAM MARKET HIGH STREET (west side) TM 3055-3155 5/34 No.52(Hill House) 16.3.66 (including front garden wall ) GV II House. Circa C18 with early C19 front. Gault brick with slated hipped roof. 2 storeys. 3 window range: 2 are sashes in recessed frames with glazing bars, the centre window is a full height double casement opening on to a wrought iron balcony flanked on both sides by lunettes. Flat gauged brick arches. Ground floor windows: full height sashes with semi-circular heads having straight and radial glazing bars and semi-circular fluted pilasters and a 6- raised and fielded panelled door. Semi circular fanlight with radial glazing bars and gauged brick arch. 2 stone string courses. Modillions to wide overhanging eaves. 2 brick stacks. The house is surrounded by a mainly gault brick wall incorporating projecting brick piers with stone copings and wrought iron entrance gates.
