Description
Ferns and Lion House is a timber-framed and plastered house featuring 18th-century external characteristics, built in an L-shaped plan. The building has two storeys, with a four-window arrangement on the east front and a two-window arrangement on the north front, both using double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The southern section, known as Ferns, includes two two-storeyed canted bays, while the northern section, referred to as Lion House, has a single-storeyed bay and a 19th-century double-fronted former shop window with segmental-headed lights. The doorways are adorned with moulded architraves and cornices, and they feature five-panel doors. The roofs are covered with old tiles and are hipped at both the north and south ends.
