Description

The serpentine wall on the south side of Westgate Street in Long Melford is an 18th-century red brick structure that stands approximately 7 feet high. It extends westward from the rear of Top Shop house, The Green West, for about 88 yards to No 1 Westgate Street. The wall features a series of concave and convex curves and is locally referred to as a crinkle-crankle wall.
