Description

Numbers 2 and 3 are a 17th-century timber-framed and plastered house located on the south side of Westgate Street in Long Melford. The building was later divided into two cottages and altered in the 18th century. The front facade is now finished with roughcast rendering. The house is two storeys high with attics, and has a three-window front with 20th-century casement windows. There are two central doorways. The roofs are tiled, using old tiles, and feature two gabled dormers on the north side, along with external end chimney stacks. The east end chimney stack has two octagonal shafts.
