Description
Stour House, also known as the Nurses' Home, is an early 19th-century building located on Stour Street. It is two storeys high and features three windows. The structure is constructed of brick, which has been painted, and is accented with stone or stucco dressings. The building has wide eaves that extend over a low-pitch roof, which is now covered with modern materials.
The windows are sash style, with three-light configurations on the sides and glazing bars. There are coupled pilasters flanking the central entrance and the window on the first floor, while single pilasters are positioned at the sides of the other windows. An entablature runs above the entrance and the ground floor windows. The entrance itself features a three-panel door topped with a divided fanlight.
