Description

Hardwicke House is a 18th-century building located on Stour Street. The northwest wing of the house features a modern front wing that serves as the Sudbury Youth Club. This wing has two cross wings with upper storeys that project, along with a central hall. The west elevation of Hardwicke House is attractive, consisting of two storeys and three attic windows. It is timber-framed and plastered, with tiled roofs. Notable architectural details include a modillion wood eaves cornice and a smaller wood cornice beneath the slightly projecting upper storey. The first floor has a range of four windows, which are old leaded casements.
