Description
The George and Dragon Inn is a mid-19th century building located on Hall Street in Long Melford. It features a grey gault brick front with red brick rusticated dressings, and it may have an earlier core. The inn is two storeys tall and has a seven-window range, with double-hung sash windows that include glazing bars, set in shallow reveals with segmental heads. On the ground floor, there are two canted bays and four doorways, three of which have semi-circular arched heads, while one doorway is blocked and has a fanlight. The building includes two carriageways, one in the center and a smaller opening at the north end. The roof is tiled, featuring a gambrel shape at the north end and three central chimney stacks.
