Description
22 King Street is a building that likely dates from the 18th century but has been significantly altered in the 19th century and later, including a heightening of the roof and replacement of old tiles with slates. The building is two storeys tall and features a timber frame with plaster. It has a five-window range with flush frame sash windows that include glazing bars. The ground floor is mostly a modern shop, except for a small shop at the eastern end, which has a late 18th century or early 19th century shopfront with slender pilasters, an entrance door, and a window with glazing bars. This building adjoins No 23 Market Hill. Together with all the listed buildings on the south side of Market Hill, No 22 contributes to a group of historic structures.
