Description
No 1 North Street is a building dating from 1692, located on the west side of the street. It features a front made of 18th century and early 19th century Suffolk brick, and stands two storeys tall with cellars and an attic that includes three dormers. The roof is tiled, and there is a wood bracket eaves cornice. The building has a three-window range with sash windows that include glazing bars. The ground floor windows are arched, and there is an arched central doorway that leads up steps, topped with a semi-circular fanlight. This property serves as both a house and offices.
No 1 North Street, along with Nos 1 to 3 (consecutive) and No 3 Old Market Place on the west side, forms a group. Additionally, Nos 1 to 7 (consecutive), as well as Nos 9, 9A, and 10, also form a group.
