Description

The Town Hall, built in 1828 by Thomas Ginn of Sudbury, is a two-story building with a basement. It is constructed of Suffolk brick, with the front face stuccoed. The front elevation features a three-window range with sash windows containing glazing bars. A central ground-floor section projects forward, supported by four Ionic columns and topped with a pediment that bears the Borough Arms. The interior includes a hall on the first floor, notable for its enriched plaster cornice. The Town Hall is part of a group that also includes the former gaol archway on Gaol Lane, and numbers 1 to 6 and 8 to 22, Black Boy Hotel.
