Description
No 96 on North Street is a house and shops dating from the 18th century. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring two dormers. It is timber-framed with hipped tiled roofs. A prominent heavy wood modillion eaves cornice runs along the top. The window range consists of sash windows without glazing bars. The ground floor accommodates two modern shops. There is an arched entrance on the south side, which includes a patterned fanlight and a six-panel door. No 96, known as the White Horse Hotel, along with Nos 98 and 99 and East House on East Street, form a group of buildings.
