Description

The ice house, built in the 19th century for the Berners family, is located in Woolverstone Park. It is constructed of red brick and has been whitewashed. The structure features an arched entrance that leads to a passageway connecting to a domed chamber, which has a double skin of brickwork. There is a circular central opening to the outer dome, and the entire structure is covered with a mound of earth. At the time of the resurvey, the ice house was overgrown.
